Procrastination

One of my admittingly more prominent traits has often been my ability to procrastinate. It is now December 17, my family is coming into town December 20 (3 days away), and I have done absolutely no Christmas shopping yet this year. How bad am I? Don’t you love it when it gets down to the wire, and you still don’t have any idea what gifts to get? I’m not too worried, I somehow always manage to pull something off in a pinch, but you’d think one of these years I’d learn to start shopping in September knowing how busy I get, but then again, we’re talking about the same guy who has been doing his taxes on the day they are due since pretty much I’ve had to start doing taxes (but I have never been late).

Since my parents may start reading these before Christmas, I won’t elaborate on what thoughts I have… it’ll be hard enough to hide it from them when we drive to Michigan with the gifts in the trunk. But tomorrow night, I think I’ll be doing my annual shopping fest of about 3 hours where I buy almost all my gifts and cards for all my friends and family. I’ve been getting pretty good at that. Good thing I live in a big city, my options are numerous.

Anyway, I’ve scarfed down my lunch, and rambling isn’t getting the work done. I wish everyone else good luck in their last minute Christmas shopping for their loved ones, and I’ll probably waiting in line with you at the checkout counter.
