I couldn’t believe this when I saw it on the local news tonight… Jaime Alexander Saide, 19, of Des Moines, Iowa, you are one stupid freakin’ idiot!

Saide, a freshman, claimed that on Nov. 8 he was attacked [at Northwestern University] by a man with a knife who threatened him and used a racial epithet, officials said. On Monday, Saide told Evanston police that he made up the incident, Northwestern Vice President for Student Affairs William J. Banis said Tuesday.

I’m not even sure what amazingly bright idea Xander thought he had for falsly claiming to be a victim of hate crimes other than seeking pity for himself, especially in a time when Northwestern University is already dealing with real hate crimes and real assaults. Whenever I think I’ve seen all levels of ignorance, someone new manages to come along to show a whole new side.

I hope you enjoyed your little stunt, Xander…. and I hope they send you to jail for a nice while to think about the time people wasted on you, and the inevitable fear and distress caused to other students. Even if this was some sort of twisted attempt to raise awareness of hate crimes, you have shown one hell of a lack of imagination. You are a disgrace to all the real victims of hate crimes.
