IBM “Global Sourcing”
IBM is “Global Sourcing” (exporting) 4,730 programming jobs. In general I think globalization is not a bad thing, but it really sucks when workers are finding themselves competing more and more with countries that pay their workers significantly less for the same jobs, and therefore hurting the job market of the U.S.
It would also suck to have as your last duty in your job before you are laid off the task of training your replacement.
I can’t tell you how angry this makes me.
Keep those damn jobs here! People need them here!
What an insult to have to go through such a terrible period of layoffs and hiring freezes only to find that those jobs are being exported.
