Gotham Police Have Arrived!

Batman Begins, the new Batman movie has obviously begun filming in Chicago as can be seen by the infiltration of Gotham Police Department cars in the loop a block from my office. The batmobiles reportedly are also in the neighborhood but I haven’t spotted them yet (a friend saw them coming in on the back of a couple trucks). I’m tempted to snoop around to try and find them although they are probably well guarded. To the batcave!

Batmobile Update: Thanks to Ryan Krga (ryankrga773 [at] hotmail.com) and his being in the right spot at the right time, he caught some video footage [6.6M] of the batmobile in action! I am providing a copy here (click on the video footage link) with his permission.

  5. I wanna know if there is an “armored” version. you know, when batman hits the button and the whole thing shells over.

  6. I’m not as up on Batman lore as others, but I don’t believe it has a shell, like the other batmobiles. For that matter, technically, this isn’t a batmobile, but a “tumbler” which is a vehicle that Wayne Enterprises makes for military use.

Plus, I heard Chris Nolan (the director) doesn’t like CGI and does not intend to use any CGI with the tumbler in the movie.
