Oh yes, scripts will definitely break. I about lost my mind when my webhost upgraded PHP and the Zend Optimizer in that order, separated by about 6 hours. A couple of the most confusing hours of my life as it certainly doesn’t break in any recognizable, easily identified way. When the “foreach” PHP keyword doesn’t work right, things tend to be weird.

Yea, it does cause a bit of wierdness. If you happen to use Ioncube for anything as well, those libraries also need to be upgraded.
