PuTTY Security Release
PuTTY, a free Telnet/SSH client for Windows, has released a security fix for those who use PSCP or PSFTP. Updates can be found at the PuTTY site.
PuTTY 0.57, released today, fixes two security holes which can allow a malicious SFTP server to execute code of its choice on a PSCP or PSFTP client connecting to it. We recommend everybody upgrade to 0.57 as soon as possible.
I don’t use PuTTY anymore (I don’t use Windows anymore except for gaming)… but this is for some of my Windows friends.
