Crime Display Done Right
Had to come out of hiding to comment on a new site chicagocrime.org. This is a nice example of a good use for Google Maps in particular. The site takes data it collects from Chicago’s Citizien ICAM website, repackages it in a nice browsable and searchable database, and displays the locations using Google Maps. It even provides RSS feeds for crimes on every block and police beat.
I commend the people who put this together. I wish I had thought of it myself!
Interesting, but I have to say, there sure is a lot of crime in that big city.
Like the new colors of your blog.
